GAHB
A few years ago, I started my Get A Hot* Boyfriend (GAHB) Project. It started out as a spiteful reaction to a relationship I found myself emotionally reluctant to let go of. (Y’know, can’t get over someone until a new distraction comes along.)
But as it turns out, the Project itself became quite a pleasant distraction. Better yet, it conveniently restarts and takes on a life of its own whenever I am single again. It became something to look forward to.
In the previous incarnation of this blog (RIP sobs), I had a 22-item list of requirements, which gained infamy amongst close friends as evidence for my pickiness. But then it included things like ability to open jars. Which I hardly think is unreasonable.
In the spirit of starting afresh and promoting transparency in a competitive market, I shall start a new list. The list will almost certainly grow. Hot Boys should hurry and snatch me up before this list gets out of hand…
- Male (see, how hard can it be?)
- Willing and more importantly, able to rescue corrupted sql files. (See here.)
- Able to open jars (still a weakness of mine. As in my inability to open jars.)
- Able to fix toilets, lights and all that jazz
- Mocks not my writing or photography skills (or lackthereof)
- Believes in humanity
- Believes in love
- Believes in kisses
- More of a man than I am (See here.)
- Appreciates and is capable of good spelling (doesn’t have to be Spelling Bee standard, but honestly no we cannot be “freinds” or “frenz”.)
- Understands my aversion to lifts, drowning, and dolls
- Mocks not my weepiness at select moments (e.g. while reading ASD stories, watching those damn Japanese tearjerkers like Quill.)
- Irons his shirts himself
- Believes in showers (you’d never know…)
- Values sleeping in as much as I do
- Has warm hands
- Has eyebrows (P, I’m looking at you!)
- Dresses like a member of normal society i.e. not high society, not secret society, not crazy society
- Is willing to read Austen aloud
- Has desirable teach-able skills
- …
* NB: All my boyfriends have been HOT. Even if the rest of the world hasn’t come round to that perspective.
